Six Downingtown graduates inducted into Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame



DOWNINGTOWN Six Downingtown graduates were recently recognized as inductees into the Downingtown Area School District and Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame.

These inductees have made significant contributions to the district and their community or their profession, the association said about the inductions on April 25.

The Hall of Fame committee, comprised of current administrators, teachers and active alumni, uses a set of criteria for nominations. Nominees needed to have graduated from any of the three high schools at least ten years prior and have accomplished success in the arts, education, politics, the military, science, engineering, athletics, entertainment, business, professional affiliations or charitable involvement.

Downingtown High School Hall of Fame 2015 Induction Class includes:

• Scott Butler, Class of 1984 for achievements in the military service;

• Maria DiBernardi, Class of 1981 for achievements in coaching;

• John Gates, Class of 1971 for achievements in arts and entertainment;

• Herbert “Herbie” Lee, Class of 1954 for achievements in education and community service;
