Napa Valley College offers new trips

The Napa Valley College Trips and Tours program has added several new destinations to its summer and fall travel lineup.

The “Exploring the Alpine Countries” trip is set for June. Participants will discover castles and palaces amidstunning Alpine vistas as they explore Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Spend two nights in Vienna, Salzburg, Oberammergau, Zermatt and Lucerne. Spend a night in the heart of the Black Forest, a region famous for its hand-carved cuckoo clocks. Take a short, scenic train ride aboard the Matterhorn Gottard Bahn into the village of Zermatt and cruise the Danube on a boat excursion.

On the “Wonders of Newfoundland” trip in August, participants will discover a blend of natural beauty, quaint villages, stunning ocean views and friendly people. Taste flavors of the region at a local restaurant featuring farm-to-table products in the oldest building in St. John’s. Stroll the coast to a remote lighthouse for a gourmet picnic lunch. Board a cruise at the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve in search of whales, puffins and other marine life. Spend time at Prime Berth Fishing Heritage Centre, where you will learn the traditions of a fishing family that have been passed down for generations. In Gros Morne National Park, set off on an unforgettable cruise on a rare freshwater fjord.
