Mr John James Edward Devonald passed away peacefully at Withybush Hospital on February 19th 2019, hew was 86 years.

John was born in Milford Haven then moved to Upper Rickeston Farm where he grew up.

When John left Herbrandston School at 14 he went to work at Capeston Farm.

In 1959 he married Norma and they moved away to Malvern where Norma was teaching and John was building the motorways around Bristol.

After a few years they returned to the area and John bought his first farm near Carmarthen called Plasbach.

Two years later John bought Bounty Farm near Clynderwen. In 1972 Norma passed away suddenly so he sold Bounty and moved back to Bunkers Hill in Milford Haven. John had various jobs, he worked at the local refinery Amoco then went on to work for the council and for W.G. Evans. John then moved to Tiers Cross where he lived for 41 years. John’s interest was his vegetable garden where at one time it became a market garden and he sold vegetables to locals and holidaymakers on his little table on the roadside.

John enjoyed listening to country and western music, he had a lovely singing voice and could yodel as well as play the mouth organ and accordion.

In John’s later years he did suffer with ill health. He leaves
