Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway Lands in New Orleans

Norwegian Cruise Line is now officially the owner of the largest ship sailing out of New Orleans as, less than six months since its major renovation, Norwegian Breakaway has landed in the Big Easy.

“We are excited to introduce Norwegian Breakaway to New Orleans, providing our guests with another premium destination to cruise from when sailing to the Caribbean,” said Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line.

“New Orleans is well known for its lively music, culinary scene and entertainment, a perfect complement to the high-caliber experiences guests will discover on Norwegian Breakaway.”

The ship now features 25 dining options, 22 bars and lounges, Norwegian’s signature water park and rope course, refreshed staterooms, and a new bar and lounge concept called Syd Norman’s Pour House that is inspired by rock houses like CBGB’s.

There’s also a number of new entertainment options onboard, including Broadway style productions such as Rock of Ages, Burn the Floor, and Cirque Dreams Jungle.

Breakaway will now sail five, seven, ten, and eleven-day Western Caribbean itineraries with calls at Cozumel, Costa Maya, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Roatán, and Harvest Caye.
