Join Broadland church group on Oberammergau trip
Revd David Wakefield, vicar of the Lingwood benefice is taking a group of people to the Oberammergau Passion Play in 2020, and is inviting other Christians to join the group for this holiday and pilgrimage.
Nearly 400 years ago the history of the Passion Play began. The plague raged in many parts of Europe and did not spare Oberammergau either. The villagers were answered by God and therefore in 1634 the first Passion Play took place. The promise has been kept until today. The 42nd Passion Play will take place in Oberammergau daily from May 16 to October 4 2020.
A visit to the Passion Play is combined with a holiday among the sparkling lakes and majestic mountains of Austria – and will give the group the opportunity of holidaying together with the common purpose of attending the Passion Play. The group will travel together, with an itinerary of included coach excursions and walks.
