Hannibal Regional Auxiliary is organizing a 2018 tour, Canadian Rockies by Train, in conjunction with the longest-standing U.S. tour operator, Collette Vacations.
Hannibal Regional Auxiliary is organizing a 2018 tour, Canadian Rockies by Train, in conjunction with the longest-standing U.S. tour operator, Collette Vacations. Interested travelers may learn about the tour at a free informational presentation from Lora Carlson with Collette Vacations at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, in Conference Room A/B located just inside the main entrance of the hospital.
Canadian Rockies by Train will depart Sept. 6, 2018, for nine days and includes 13 meals. VIA Rail’s The Canadian will go from Vancouver to Jasper on an overnight train journey. In the domed carm travelers will experience panoramic views of snow-capped mountains, glacial lakes, rushing rivers and the sheer unspoiled wilderness of Canada. In Jasper they will see the Maligne Canyon and its picture-perfect lake during breakfast. They will witness the Icefields Parkway, stop at Columbia Icefield and choose a glacier experience across this mass of glacier ice or take a walk on the Glacier Skywalk. They will overnight in the region’s hotels and resorts, discover the natural beauty of Moraine Lake, the powerful Bow Falls and impressive Hoodoos; experience a day on a ranch in the Alberta plains, complete with a wagon ride in search of buffalo and a barbecue lunch.
